The Satco mounting plate with hanger bars for new construction is a dual-method rough-in accessory engineered for 4″, 6″, and 8″ round recessed downlights. Unlike a fixed stud/joist plate, the integrated hanger bars make this kit compatible with both T-grid and stud/joist ceiling structures a single solution that covers the two most common commercial and residential framing scenarios.

During rough-in, the hanger bars extend to span the framing cavity and lock into position, holding the mounting plate level and centered before drywall or ceiling tile goes up. The result is a fixture that sits perfectly flush at finish no shimming, no repositioning, no rework. Each size accommodates a slightly oversized cutout diameter (4.25″, 6.25″, or 8.125″) to allow for field adjustments without compromising the final appearance.
